Some people just don't understand that they have the ability to make this world a better place. Here is one of those tales.
"Today 5/11/11, I went to a restaurant to make a reservation for 5/14/11 and was told by a
woman "manager" with a horrendous attitude and a look on her face that I was trash, that under no circumstance
could they accommodate me. I originally had a reservation for 16, and needed to increase that number. I can
understand if that location could not do it, but the way I was told was completely unprofessional and I strongly
feel this person is not representing your establishment the way you would like.I will no longer support this restaurant."
So, the whole story that this woman didn't want to tell you is that the original reservation for 16 people was to be changed to 40 people. She also didn't say that her sister was the one who came in to change the reservation and was fine, thanking the "manager" for being honest and looking out for their best interest since this was to be on a Saturday night during our busiest time. That they would not be taken care of properly. We could have taken the reservation and their money then gave poor service as well as poor food, but we are better than that. Something the woman writing the complaint wanted to ignore.
After the sister left, the woman who wrote this complaint called and berated the "manager" over the problem said quite a few unneccessary comments. Trash. So, being the one to call her back about her complaint, she told me that her sister was in tears over the way she was treated by the "manager". She also told me that I needed to send her enough gift certificates to cover her and her family for their next visit, all 40 of them. Exactly, doing our best to look out for someone and make sure that we are not ripping them off calls for free food for 40 people? I don't think so. I was polite and referred her to my boss and guess what, he sent her $100 in gift certificates. I hope that this person doesn't use them in my restaurant. I don't like trash, that's why I throw it away.
So the lesson here is that we all should be a part of making this world a better place and this woman clearly doesn't get it. Please don't lie. Please treat each other with respect. And please, please do not act like trash when, guess what? You are trash!
On a side note, life can and will change in an instant. When it does, take a deep breath and hold on to the things and/or people that matter most in life and will always be there for you waiting when you need them most. Some of the things I have learned that are most important to me are the people who support me and what I need even when it isn't what they needed at the time, people who love me for who I am, even when I turned into someone they didn't expect and people who are honest with me, even when I don't want to hear what they have to say. I am not talking about anyone specifically, so please don't take it that way if anyone reads this. Which most likely won't happen since I don't have any followers yet.
